This edition of corrient.es is an open invitation to be part of a collective film made out of fragments in different formats (video, audio, text -ideas that were never made into images-, sketches, drawings). A collective work composed of materials from unfinished films. Unfinished films, whether half-made or just started, stay unfinished for thousands of reasons. Some meet an early end in raw footage, corrupted sound files, or images that only exist in words. The end of a feeling, the lack of material or financial resources, or even the impossibility of working alone; of giving and receiving comments, influences, and ideas ...
Some unfinished films exist as videos or photos on our cell phones, sound recordings without images, abstract ideas, or just drawings.
We invite you to send us these potential films. From September 30th to October 30th we will be adding fragments onto a diagram that has already started and through patterns and differences we will see the relationships that exist between all of these moments. Our intention with this edition is to try to create a community network where imagined and unfinished films feed each other and coexist collectively.
Throughout the month, until October 30th , you can send us an e-mail to info@corrient.es with materials and a description (of any length) of the reason why you didn’t finish, or start, your potential film.
During confinement I was captivated by the golden flirtation of the sun. I let myself seduce it into the skin, roasting my boredom, and I also started a movie about walls bathed by it terrible love.
These are all images i took while traveling to Córdoba, Buenos Aires, Hannover and Jundiaí (where I was born). I made the videos with an ipod and mini-dv camera between 2015-2017. I no longer remember the reason why I filmed each one of them, but I had the intention of using them to edit different films that never left the world of ideas. In one of the videos, I filmed myself in a park thinking about creating a character. Today they are a collection of disjointed memories, records of small moments of interest. Smoke, lights, landscapes.
